Dr. Sophia Zhang is Vice President of Research and Development Operations. She is a highly experienced scientific leader with nearly 20 years of expertise spanning foundational T cell immunology, tumor immunology, and the entire drug discovery continuum.
Prior to joining Biosion, Dr. Zhang was Executive Director of Early Research at Legend Biotech, where she led the creation of a novel allogeneic cell therapy platform. Her responsibilities encompassed therapeutic product design, lead candidate identification, process development, and manufacturing support for investigator-initiated clinical trials (IITs).
Earlier in her career, Dr. Zhang was Associate Director of Discovery Biology Business Unit at GenScript, managing antibody discovery projects for global biotech and pharmaceutical partners. She invented a proprietary bispecific antibody platform and developed multiple bispecific antibodies based on this technology.
Dr. Zhang holds a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
