BSI-128 is a humanized anti-HER2 monoclonal antibody. BSI-128 binds to a distinct epitope different from those of trastuzumab (Herceptin) and pertuzumab (Perjeta). When used in combination, it significantly enhances the in vivo efficacy of trastuzumab. BSI-128 exhibits a two-fold higher internalization activity compared to Herceptin and Perjeta, and substantially promotes the internalization of the HER2/trastuzumab complex. HER2, which promotes the growth of cancer cells, is overexpressed in a subset of patients with breast cancer and gastric cancer. In July 2022, Biosion licensed the development and commercialization rights of BSI-128 in Mainland China to Anke Bio.
